The RECITATIVO podcast series (SE01) is an initiative by Timon de Nood in collaboration with Klassiek-Centraal.
Timon sits down with 9 fantastic composers from Flanders and Brussels. Each episode brings you closer to the creative minds behind the music—from their sources of inspiration to the dreams and concepts that shape their compositions. The podcast is available on YouTube and Spotify.
In the first episode of RECITATIVO, Timon visits composer and pianist Yentl Tijssens. On a beautiful summer day in the cozy concert hall of Villa Les Tilleuls, Yentl shares stories about his past, his affinity for the lied genre, jazz, game music, composing rituals, retreats, and much more!
Two of his works are discussed in detail:
- Movements for Cello & Piano, performed by Roeland Vermeulen (piano) and François-Emmanuel Douchy (cello)
- Au Repos, performed by Anna Bæk Christensen (vocals) and Octavian Andrei Leyva Dragomir (piano)
But there's more, including the Tinel Ensemble and Lara Cannaert!
Be sure to check out his website and social media. Together with Eliane Delens, Yentl hosts a concert series at Villa Les Tilleuls—you'll find the concert page below.
