By placing the two sonatas op. 34 and the 12 Monferrine op. 49 side by side, pianist Giulia Toniolo showcases the breadth of Muzio Clementi's piano artistry. On one hand, large-scale compositions, quasi-concertante accents, contrapuntal energy and a conception of the piano as an orchestral organism; on the other hand, the choreographic miniature, in which a Piedmontese folk dance is transformed into an elegant laboratory of rhythm, balance and timbre
