This CD contains Sonatas by Ÿsaye and Bartók for solo violin. This album is completed by the recording of an Improvviso that Stefano Zanchetta composed in 2020. It is a short album leaf, of only 44 measures, and with a completely free form, as prescribed by the designation Improvvisando, ad libitum. It begins on the fourth string with a sort of thematic fragment, which is apparently repeated immediately, albeit not identically. The piece has a lyrical character and reaches its emotional climax in the Molto espressivo portando that precedes the fading-out conclusion. The biting techniques of the avant-gardes are avoided. Even with many dissonances, the use of the instrument is directed towards the elevation of the singing character. It is also elegantly marked by natural and artificial harmonics.
