On March 28, Apple is launching its own app exclusively for classical music as part of Apple Music: Apple Music Classical. The Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra is proud to maintain a partnership with Apple during the first year of this new streaming service.
During this collaboration, twelve previously unreleased recordings of the Concertgebouw Orchestra in high-resolution stereo and Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos will be released exclusively for one year on Apple Music Classical. Additionally, more than 50 existing original surround recordings from its own label RCO Live will be made digitally available for the first time in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos. Furthermore, regular RCO Live releases will be available on Apple Music Classical earlier than on other platforms during this first year.
The Concertgebouw Orchestra's catalog, including the exclusive recordings, will have its own portal on Apple Music Classical, where the orchestra will also regularly publish new exclusive playlists.
Apple Music Classical contains the world's largest classical music catalog, including hundreds of recordings of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, in the highest audio quality: lossless up to 24 bit and Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos. This catalog is now easily searchable thanks to technology developed specifically for classical music.
