Christine Walevska has been at the center of the cello world since her first international concert performances at eighteen years old. These early successes earned her the kind of acclaim usually reserved for star soloists at a later stage in their careers. A hallmark of this recognition was the comment from Los Angeles music critic Patterson Greene: "She brings to the cello the unique persuasive power that Fritz Kreisler commanded on the violin." Over more than four decades of performing around the world, she has appeared with orchestras in Germany, the United States, France, throughout Spain, Poland, Mexico, Central and South America (bringing music to every major and small town with a concert hall equipped with an orchestra or piano to accompany her), in the Netherlands with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, The Hague, the Concertgebouw, the Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra, Vienna, Italy, Prague, Cuba, Los Angeles Philharmonic, Dresden Philharmonic, concerts in Japan, Hong Kong, China and Taiwan. Her cellos: an 1834 Bernardel in 1/8 size, an 1852 Gand, and since 1965 she has performed on a 1740 Bergonzi.
