With Scenes from Everyday Life Agathe Ensemble explores the intersection between folk traditions from the Netherlands, Sweden and Norway and classical music. With works by Julius Röntgen, Amanda Maier and Edvard Grieg, the album presents new arrangements for string ensemble, featuring dances, songs and the shared musical spirit of these three countries.
The arrangements were created by the musicians themselves, for different string configurations, from duo to octet. The goal was to bring the folk elements in the music to the fore and breathe new life into the music in this way.
This album is released in a special way. In addition to the music, there is an illustrated and designed booklet by artist Roland Toth.
