Due to the prevailing safety measures, the organizers were forced to select only twelve semi-finalists instead of 24. Each candidate will also perform his or her Mozart concerto and recital on the same day rather than on two different days. Thus two candidates will perform per day, one in the afternoon and one in the evening. The announcement of the finalists on Saturday, May 15 can be followed around 11 pm live on our website. - Mozart Concerto: The candidates are accompanied by the Orchestre Royal de Chambre de Wallonie, conducted by Frank Braley, who is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his First Prize at the Competition in 1991 this year. They could choose from the concertos KV450 (no. 15 in B-flat), KV453 (no. 17 in G), KV456 (no. 18 in B-flat), KV488 (no. 23 in A) and KV595 (no. 27 in B-flat). - Recital: For this recital, the candidate prepares the unpublished mandatory work, Nocturne by Pierre Jodlowski, and two completely different recital programs of their own choice, from which the jury selects one. The candidate learns the jury's choice the day before his performance and the selected recital will then be indicated on the press page of our website and in the semi-final schedule.
