Forty years have passed since Gidon Kremer created a small musical oasis in the Austrian Lockenhaus in 1981. The violinist's open spirit left its mark on this event, which has become an indispensable part of the concert calendar, and cellist Nicolas Altstaedt, who took over the torch in 2012, continues the same philosophy. For this fortieth anniversary, he has decided to call upon composers who have come to Lockenhaus in the past ten years or have had their works performed there. Thus the program contains two premieres - the cello concertos by Raphaël Merlin and Helena Winkelman - but also short pieces by Erkki-Sven Tüür, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Lera Auerbach, Patkop, Maja Ratkje, Matan Porat, Kurt Schwertsik and Johannes Fischer. Musical postcards that celebrate the jubilee and at the same time herald the next forty years!
