To celebrate the 85th birthday of the renowned Munich composer Wilfried Hiller, a master of universal sound art, the CD "VERNISSAGE – Works for Violin, Piano, North Indian Singing Bowls, Wine Glasses and Tap Dancing Shoes" will be released in March 2026. This unconventional instrumentation creates a synthesis of tradition and experimentation, taking the listener into new sonic dimensions. The
CD also contains several world premiere recordings, some of which are inspired by the expressive sculptures of artist Antje Tesche-Mentzen.
Hiller, known for his intellectual cross-references and connections with visual art, links music with visual inspiration here – as in "Vernissage" or "Agnes-Umspielungen" (Agnes's playful interpretations). The compositions invite the listener on an auditory exhibition, full of allusions and emotional depth.
The music is performed by violinist Franziska Strohmayr and pianist Laura Pitz, who bring the nuanced tonal colors to life. They also present solo works with virtuosic musicality and technique, in which harmonic worlds and percussive elements blend together in perfect harmony. This album is a novelty in contemporary music: innovative, interdisciplinary, and stunning – let yourself be drawn into Hiller's cosmos.
