The organ of Vincenzo Colombi in Valvasone is a rare example of the Venetian school. The instrument from 1532/33 with ¼-comma meantone temperament, low wind pressure, pitch a' = 492.5 Hz and a Ripieno varying from Tenori 12' to XXIX, with Flauto in XV and Fiffaro, possesses a tonal palette characterized by counterpoint and toccata figurations. The Valvasone Organ Book brings together masters associated with San Marco and moves between ricercari, toccatas and canzoni da sonare within an emerging rhetoric of affects.
