The Crown of Life continues exploring forgotten treasures of 20th-century English choral music with the Queen's College Oxford choir under Owen Rees. The highlight is the first recording of Kenneth Leighton's Missa Christi (1988), the composer's final major sacred work, commissioned by Christ Church Cathedral in Indianapolis. Also featured are world premiere recordings of Harold Darke's Blessed is the man that endureth temptation and Imogen Holst's Out of your sleep arise and wake. Works by Rebecca Clarke and Gustav Holst round out the program, offering a varied portrait of composers connected through their studies at Stanford and united in their sacred style of expression
