The ensemble The Percussion Collective presents the album "Seaborne" under the artistic direction of Robert van Sice. At its core is a work by Garth Neustadter, created in collaboration with video artist Kjell van Sice. The music and images interweave, creating a layered portrait of the sea: from the coasts of Mauritius to the waters of Hawaii. The three-part composition "Above," "At," and "Within" views the ocean from different perspectives: from the air, at the surface, and in the depths. Neustadter employs an ensemble of percussion, piano, marimbas, vibraphones, and vocals to create the sound. This results in musical images that convey both the vastness, movement, and unpredictability of the sea as well as its quiet, vulnerable side. "Seaborne" is not merely a representation of nature, but also a reflection on humanity's relationship with the sea and with one of the planet's most vital resources.
