Pianist Christopher Howell presents his second installment of piano music by Charles Hubert H. Parry, showcasing a lesser-known side of the great orchestral and choral composer. The program features the luminous Sonata No. 2 in A major, three pieces from Sonnets and Songs without Words, and the suite "Hands Across the Centuries," published in the year of the composer's death, in which Parry reimagines the Baroque forms—allemande, courante, sarabande, gavotte, minuet, and jig—within a late Romantic context.
