In this new episode of the "Next Generation Mozart Soloists" series, pianist Mishka Rushdie Momen presents Mozart's very first piano concerto (K. 37), which he composed at just eleven years old, as well as his last, the Concerto K. 595, which he completed on January 5, 1791, exactly eleven months before his death. "The juxtaposition of the naïve, youthful first concerto and the mature final concerto, along with consideration of Bach's musical influence, reveals the extraordinary development of a brilliant mind," says Mishka Rushdie Momen. She studied with Joan Havill, Imogen Cooper, Richard Goode, and Andras Schiff at the Kronberg Academy and performs the works under the direction of Howard Griffiths. Blaz Sparovec, principal clarinetist of the Gürzenich Orchestra Cologne, devotes himself to one of Mozart's final works, the famous Clarinet Concerto K. 622: "A concerto that can only be compared to an opera in which the basset clarinet takes on every role," says Sparovec.
