Violinist Ning Feng records Mozart's complete violin concertos with the Kammerakademie Potsdam for Channel Classics Records. These five concertos came about because Mozart's father Leopold worried that Wolfgang would neglect the violin as a potential source of income during his travels. Mozart was himself an accomplished violinist and wrote brilliant music for the instrument. The concertos, composed largely in 1775, showcase the theatrical twists and surprising contrasts that had already become second nature to the then 19-year-old composer – his thoughts and dreams were constantly drawn to opera and drama.
