The Isidore String Quartet, winner of the 14th Banff International String Quartet Competition in 2022 and an Avery Fisher Career Grant in 2023, makes its debut with Delos. The quartet was founded at Juilliard School and is taught by former and current members of the Juilliard String Quartet. The name Isidore comes from the legendary violinist Isidore Cohen, one of the founding members of the Juilliard Quartet. The quartet is quickly making a name for itself in the international concert world. The album Adorations is a tribute to the essence of chamber music—a tapestry of joy, human connection, and the enduring resonance of intertwined lives. Each work on the album reflects a unique form of adoration and offers its own expression of wonder, awe, and the profound beauty of a shared musical experience. The recital features Joseph Haydn's String Quartet in C Major, Op. 20, and Felix Mendelssohn's String Quartet in E-flat Major, Op. 44, as well as Samuel Barber's celebrated Adagio for Strings and Florence Price's Adoration.
