Cet album présente pour la première fois une plus grande sélection de musique chorale de Staffan Storm. C'est le résultat d'une collaboration de plusieurs années avec Erik Westberg et son ensemble vocal, qui exécute régulièrement de la nouvelle musique de Storm et en commande. La suite « Aspects of Snow » est basée sur d'anciens poèmes japonais et s'est rapidement établie comme un classique choral qui est exécuté dans toute la Suède et internationalement. « Seelenherbst » pour chœur mixte et percussions est basé sur des poèmes de Luise Büchner (la sœur de Georg Büchner). « Nachtregen » pour alto solo et chœur met en musique deux poèmes d'Else Lasker-Schüler. « Langt i forsvunna tider » (Loin dans le passé) est basé sur trois chansons de Wilhelm Stenhammar. La radio suédoise a commandé l'œuvre pour le 150e anniversaire de Stenhammar en 2021 et le Chœur de la radio suédoise l'a créée sous la direction d'Erik Westberg. Le compositeur Staffan Storm peut se tourner vers une longue liste de compositions, allant de la musique de chambre et solo aux œuvres orchestrales et aux opéras. La musique de Storm a été récompensée par plusieurs prix, notamment le Saltö Järnåker Foundation Prize et le Swedish Music Publishers' Prize. L'Erik Westberg Vocaal Ensemble a été créé en 1993 et se compose de 16 à 20 chanteurs. L'ensemble a commandé et créé plus de 60 œuvres. Le chef d'orchestre Erik Westberg a dirigé de nombreux chœurs, notamment le Chœur philharmonique d'Oslo et le Chœur de la jeunesse suédoise, et a été chef invité du Chœur de la radio suédoise.
