Dit album presenteert voor het eerst een grotere selectie koormuziek van Staffan Storm. Het is het resultaat van een jarenlange samenwerking met Erik Westberg en zijn vocaal ensemble, dat regelmatig nieuwe muziek van Storm uitvoert en in opdracht geeft. De suite "Aspects of Snow" is gebaseerd op oude Japanse gedichten en heeft zich al snel gevestigd als een koorklassieker die in heel Zweden en internationaal wordt uitgevoerd. "Seelenherbst" voor gemengd koor en percussie is gebaseerd op gedichten van Luise Büchner (de zus van Georg Büchner). "Nachtregen" voor altviool solo en koor zet twee gedichten van Else Lasker-Schüler op muziek. "Langt i forsvunna tider" (Ver in het verleden) is gebaseerd op drie liederen van Wilhelm Stenhammar. De Zweedse radio gaf opdracht voor het werk voor Stenhammar's 150e geboortedag in 2021 en het Zweeds Radiokoor voerde het voor het eerst uit onder leiding van Erik Westberg. De componist Staffan Storm kan terugkijken op een uitgebreide lijst van werken, variërend van solo- en kamermuziek tot orkestwerken en opera's. Storms muziek is bekroond met verschillende prijzen, waaronder de Saltö Järnåker Foundation Prize en de Swedish Music Publishers' Prize. Het Erik Westberg Vocaal Ensemble werd opgericht in 1993 en bestaat uit 16 tot 20 zangers. Het ensemble heeft meer dan 60 werken besteld en in première gebracht. De dirigent Erik Westberg heeft vele koren gedirigeerd, waaronder het Oslo Filharmonisch Koor en het Zweeds Jeugdkoor, en was gastdirigent van het Zweeds Radiokoor.
