The music tells about the first breath, the beginning, first love, setbacks and farewell. In doing so, the composer combines lyrical melodies, powerful orchestral passages and his Chinese origin in a personal work. Together with the Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra under the direction of Zhang Liang, Chen combines grand orchestral soundscapes with traditional Chinese instruments such as the erhu, pipa, guzheng and sheng. As guest musicians, violinist Daniel Hope and mandolinist Avi Avital enrich the album. With his unmistakable style, which has already captivated a worldwide audience, Chen once again bridges symphonic music and the narrative character of modern soundtracks.
