Trio Gaspard is one of the most sought-after young chamber music ensembles of its kind and is praised for its unique and fresh approach to the score. A recent recording led The Times to conclude: 'Kaleidoscopic textures and sparkling humour, beautifully conveyed by Trio Gaspard ... a pleasure to listen to'. The trio was founded in 2010, with members from Germany, Greece and Great Britain who all studied at the European Chamber Music Academy in Vienna. The music of Joseph Haydn has played a central role in their programme for fifteen years, and they rarely give a concert without performing one of his works. Trio Gaspard writes: "In this series of recordings we present Haydn's rich output for piano trio neither chronologically nor in the order in which the works were first published. Like the previous CDs, Volume 5 is conceived as a programme of contrasting trios that can be listened to in one sitting. We are also continuing the series of contemporary works that we commissioned as an accompanying programme to our Haydn project and are delighted to present the world premiere of Helena Winkelmans "Threesome in a High-den"
