It is in full swing the season of harvesting wine grapes. Wine grower Bas Huisman from the Dutch Balkbrug is probably once again aiming for a new record harvest. In his vineyards, soft classical music sounds day and night. Since he began experimenting with playing classical music, the yield has risen spectacularly from 800 to over 3,500 to 4,000 liters.
He shared his remarkable story with Editie NL (RTL). It is already known, though not necessarily proven, that plants grow better and are healthier when classical music plays and when you speak to them. The vibrations this produces are said to have a positive impact that stimulates the growth, productivity and health of the plants. Aggressive music and aggressive verbal language, on the other hand, would slow down the plant's growth, productivity and health.
You can read the young wine grower's full story here.
It is not a story of water turning into wine, although no wine is possible without water, and apparently melodic, harmonious music is also of great importance for getting your glass of wine filled.. Moreover, is it not so that classical music has something divine about it?
