Dieses Album präsentiert zum ersten Mal eine größere Auswahl von Chormusik von Staffan Storm. Es ist das Ergebnis einer jahrelangen Zusammenarbeit mit Erik Westberg und seinem Vokalensemble, das regelmäßig neue Musik von Storm aufführt und in Auftrag gibt. Die Suite "Aspects of Snow" basiert auf alten japanischen Gedichten und hat sich schnell als Chorklassiker etabliert, der in ganz Schweden und international aufgeführt wird. "Seelenherbst" für gemischten Chor und Schlagzeug basiert auf Gedichten von Luise Büchner (der Schwester von Georg Büchner). "Nachtregen" für Altviola solo und Chor vertont zwei Gedichte von Else Lasker-Schüler. "Langt i forsvunna tider" (Ver in het verleden) basiert auf drei Liedern von Wilhelm Stenhammar. Der Schwedische Rundfunk gab das Werk in Auftrag für Stenhammar's 150. Geburtstag im Jahr 2021 und der Schwedische Rundfunkchor führte es unter der Leitung von Erik Westberg zum ersten Mal auf. Der Komponist Staffan Storm kann auf eine umfangreiche Liste von Werken zurückblicken, die von Solo- und Kammermusik bis zu Orchestrerwerken und Opern reicht. Storms Musik wurde mit verschiedenen Preisen ausgezeichnet, darunter der Saltö Järnåker Foundation Prize und der Swedish Music Publishers' Prize. Das Erik Westberg Vokalensemble wurde 1993 gegründet und besteht aus 16 bis 20 Sängern. Das Ensemble hat mehr als 60 Werke in Auftrag gegeben und uraufgeführt. Der Dirigent Erik Westberg hat viele Chöre geleitet, darunter das Oslo Filharmonisk Kor und das Schwedische Jugendkoor, und war Gastdirigent des Schwedischen Rundfunkchors.
