Het Trio Dichter bestaande uit Théotime Langlois de Swarte (viool), Hanna Salzenstein (cello) en Fiona Mato (piano) neemt de luisteraar mee naar een soirée, dat plaatsvindt in het Duitsland van de negentiende eeuw, en wel in de woning van Clara en Robert Schumann. Om deze sfeer nog meer te bereiken, spelen de musici op authentieke instrumenten. De voor deze opname gebruikte instrumenten zijn afkomstig uit de collectie van het Musée de la musique in Parijs.
Op het programma staan werken van Clara en Robert Schumann en diens vriend Felix Mendelssohn. Maar ook hun grote voorbeeld Johann Sebastiaan Bach alsook hun protegés Gade, Krichner en Brahms ontbreken niet in het avondconcert.
Aan het imaginaire soirée bij de Schumanns werken de Duitse bariton Samuel Hasselhorn én pianist Jorge González Buajasan mee. Laatstgenoemde voert samen met pianist Fiona Mato Mendelssohns Andante & Allegro assai vivace Op. 92 uit.
