30 years Zefiro Torna: Unity in diversity, special edition! Thirty years Zefiro Torna: you don't celebrate that with a boring retrospective, but with a festive encounter! In the XL special edition of the multi-year project Unity in diversity, the ensemble embarks on a stage adventure in which past and present are hardly distinguishable from each other. It says something about the trajectory of Zefiro Torna: what began as a quest for early music, evolved into a practice of dialogue – renaissance and baroque repertoire alongside folk music, improvisation and new approaches. For this pearlescent jubilee, frontman Jurgen De bruyn, together with mandolinist Alon Sariel, assembled an exceptional collective. Twelve voices and instruments – from lute and ney to gadulka and tar – span a soundscape that is both intimate and exuberant. Each brings its own tradition, in the encounter the music begins to tell its story. Differences are not smoothed out, but resonate together. From hushed intimacy to exuberant singing, this concert colours joyfully outside the lines: the ultimate proof that turning thirty is no reason to take it easier!
