Susato Trio & Patrick Jüdt

The young Susato Trio joins forces with their mentor and seasoned veteran of the profession, violist Patrick Jüdt. He is professor of viola, chamber music and contemporary music at the Bern University of the Arts and one of the artistic directors of ECMA (European Chamber Music Academy). As part of ECMA, the Susato Trio also performed at MIRY last month, alongside two other top ensembles.

In their choice of repertoire, the Susato Trio consistently seeks out music that, unintentionally or unjustly, fell through the cracks of time. They then place these works alongside better-known pieces. As a trio, they have already attracted the attention of various competition juries on several occasions with this approach. In 2024, for example, they won both the first prize and the audience prize at the Supernova competition of radio station Klara. They are now expanding to a piano quartet and are choosing, among other works, Mozart's First Piano Quartet.
