HARMONISCHE FREUDE — Dorothée Mields & Hathor Consort

What is the value of dialogue — musical, philosophical and social? HARMONIOUS JOY we experience together on 11 October… but can harmony arise WITHOUT DISCOURSE? A unique experience where music, encounter and reflection reinforce each other — with a festive final chord!

17:15 — CONCERT: HARMONIOUS JOY — Dorothée Mields & Hathor Consort

Star soprano DOROTHÉE MIELDS & the brilliant HATHOR CONSORT — four viols and organ/harpsichord under the direction of ROMINA LISCHKA — revive the MUSICAL FRIENDSHIP between BUXTEHUDE, REINCKEN & THEILE depicted in Johannes Voorhout's painting from 1674. From the eight-part canon in the painting, via ERLEBACH's 'Harmonische Freude musicalischer Freunde' to KRIEGER's 'Musicalischer Seelen-Friede'. Discover rarely performed and breathtaking Baroque gems in the beautiful chapel of Stadspaleis Hof Bladelin. BART STOUTEN welcomes you. CONCERTZENDER records the event. (Chapel doors open at 17:00)

16:15–17:00 — PRE-PROGRAMME (Free admission on presentation of your concert ticket)

NOT WITHOUT DISCOURSE — Stephan De Winter Met De Boys

Philosopher, author and bookseller STEPHAN DE WINTER converses with AMORY GILLOT & ROBI STRUYF of the well-known podcast DISCOURS MET DE BOYS. A sharp and in-depth conversation about listening before answering, nuance and difference, transience and depth — and why true DIALOGUE is essential in a polarizing world. (Chapel doors open at 15:45)

MEET-AND-EAT* — A SPECIAL FINAL CHORD

From 18:45 we invite you, should you wish, to a special MEET-AND-EAT*. We also celebrate BART STOUTEN's 70TH BIRTHDAY, marking the end of this 30TH EVENT of Early Music — Last Minute. (Send an email if you would like to join us at: earlymusic@passionbeyondbach.com)
