The Protean Quartet, winner of the York Early Music International Young Artists Competition 2022, makes its Linn debut with an eclectic and timeless programme. Beginning with polyphony, the versatile young quartet embarks on a journey through time, from Purcell's Pavan Z. 752, Chacony Z. 730 and the dance from the opera Dioclesian to Schubert's String Quartets no. 4 and 13 ("Rosamunde") and Josquin's celebrated "Mille regretz". The broad range of these works allows the outstanding musicians of the Protean Quartet to fully utilize their artistic qualities.
