Pianist+%3Cstrong%3EFrans+Ehlhart+%3C%2Fstrong%3Ediscovered+the+work+of+%3Cstrong%3EIngrid+Jonker%3C%2Fstrong%3E%2C+a+South+African+poet+whose+poetry+made+a+deep+impression+on+him%3A+%26quot%3BDespite+the+somber+undercurrent+of+Jonker%26rsquo%3Bs+poems%2C+I+was+touched+by+the+wondrous+lightness+of+her+language.+I+have+chosen+twenty-three+works+from+her+collected+poetry+that+deal+with+her+love+life+and+her+fear+of+abandonment.+In+these+poems%2C+we+can+often+find+predictions+of+her+own+death.%26quot%3B%3Cbr+%2F%3E%3Cbr+%2F%3E%26quot%3BOne+could+perceive+the+style+of+the+compositions+on+this+album+as+modern-classical.+I+make+use+of+harmonies+from+the+jazz+idiom+along+with+pop+music-like+sound+colors+combined+with+an+on+the+one+hand+highly+romantic+and+on+the+other+impressionist+tone.+In+short%2C+a+multitude+of+styles+that+require+great+flexibility+and+an+empathic+musical+ability+from+performers.+It+especially+does+so+from+the+singers.+%26lsquo%3BTiming%26rsquo%3B+and+%26lsquo%3Bflow%26rsquo%3B+are+key+for+a+good+performance.%26quot%3B%3Cbr+%2F%3E%3Cbr+%2F%3EAbout+his+cooperation+with+singer+%3Cstrong%3ECharlotte+Margiono%3C%2Fstrong%3E+Ehlhart+says%3A+...as+we+worked+together%2C+this+wonderful+musical+collaboration+started+flourishing.+That+is+exactly+what+I+had+hoped+for.+It%26rsquo%3Bs+not+just+her+warm+and+glowing+voice+that+I+admire%2C+I+am+also+deeply+impressed+by+her+interpretative+qualities.+My+intuition+did+not+deceive+me.+Charlotte+sings+with+a+very+exceptional+musical+intention.+I+could+not+have+wished+for+a+better+performer+to+sing+these+songs.%26quot%3B%3Cbr+%2F%3E
