Francesco Corti

Francesco Corti (Arezzo, 1984) is an Italian harpsichord player and organist.

Born into a musical family, Corti received his first instruction from his mother A. Seggi and subsequently from G. Giustarini.
He studied organ and organ composition with W. van de Pol at the "Morlacchi" Conservatory in Perugia, subsequently harpsichord with A. Fedi at the Conservatoire Superieur de Musique in Geneva and at the Amsterdam Conservatory with Bob van Asperen.
He also attended masterclasses with Christophe Rousset, Gustav Leonhardt, M. Meyerson, Bernard Winsemius, E. Kooiman, L. Tamminga, Luigi Ferdinando Tagliavini and participated in sessions such as the Summer Academy for Organists in Haarlem, the Académie Musicale in Villecroze and the Accademia Chigiana in Siena.
In 2006 he won First Prize in the international harpsichord competition Johann Sebastian Bach in Leipzig.
In 2007 Corti won Second Prize in the international harpsichord competition, organized as part of the Festival Musica Antiqua in Brugge.
He made an early start to his career as a soloist, with performances in Europe, the United States, Mexico, Iceland, Japan and New Zealand.
