historalia

Historalia is a Flemish production company for musicals. These musicals are organized every summer at different locations in Belgium and since 2025 in the United Kingdom. Between 2014 and 2025, 9 productions were presented at four different locations: Kasteel de Merode (Westerlo), Kasteel van Wijnendale (Torhout), Hever Castle (United Kingdom) and at the basilica of Scherpenheuvel.

In addition to the annual musicals, Historalia also produces a theatrical walk around the Christmas theme every year around Christmas, specifically designed for children. These are organized under the name 'Kerstmagie'. For this, various castles in Belgium are decorated with many Christmas trees, lights and gifts.

Kerstmagie started in 2015 in the castle of Westerlo. In the years that followed, different stories played in different castles, including 'Het IJs van het Kerstparadijs', 'Het Geheim van de Torenkamer', 'Het Magisch Sprookjesboek', 'De Groene Kerstman' and 'Paniek in het Kerstkasteel'. From 2021 onwards, the decision was made to tell the same story in all castles. In 2025, it was decided to create a different story in each castle based on the history of the castle.

In the 2021 to 2023 edition of Kerstmagie, Kerstmagie also took place in some Walloon castles under the name 'Magie de Noël'.
